The city of Munich was heavily bombed during WWII. The people of Munich foresaw the impending destruction and draw sketches and took pictures of their city. After the war, the people voted to reconstruct the city in the same architectural style. The buildings and church in the marktplatz were stunning.
Any trip to Munich would not be complete without a visit to the famous Hofbräu beer hall. People pack this oversized pub to drink great beer with good friends. Hitler once spoke to a packed house here when he was trying to take over the German government in 1923.
Hofbräu specializes in both the darker Dunkel and the famous lighter original. I preferred the dark beer and Rose favored the original. They both were delicious. 
I loved the beer in Germany!! It tasted like no other beer I have ever had and came in huge 1 liter super glasses! I definitely bought one to bring home with me.

These fun decorations are common in the German beer halls. The atmosphere was great!
