The Glastonbury Tor with its mysterious ridges is believed to have once been an Island and fabled to be the famous Isle of Avalon where Arthur was laid to rest.

The folklore surrounding this hills is overwhelming: From fairies, to Joseph of Aremethia
to power triangles and Celtic mysticism.
At the bottom of the tor is Chalice well where THE chalice is said to be buried. Glastonbury also claims to be where Christianity first took root in Britain.
This results in a strange mix of visitors. You have the tourists, like us and then the weird
French people we noticed lighting incense and placing daggers on the stone table. We didn't stay long.
Wells is our local Cathedral. Everyone we have met insists that we visit.
The cathedral was begun in 1180
We visited this 14th century pub for some great food and Ale although it took 30 min to get order!
