A Very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to All!
On our annual Christmas date in Gettysburg

We visited Boyd's Bears one last time. Next year we are going to create a new adventure for ourselves!Instead of dining in the living room of the Dobbin house, we choose to go below to the Springfield Tavern which is located in the cellar of the Dobbin house. It brought back good memories of the many European pubs I have visited. Our Christmas Tree!

Pieroggies

Historically, pieroggie day meant that all the women would slave over these dough balls of goodness while the men sat around and watched TV over a few beers.
The next generation is evolving this tradition into a family affair.
Beer in hand, the whole Wyzga family pitched in to produce our Christmas Eve delicacy.
Thanks to a new pieroggie maker, we were done in record time.
This was Sunday, today, Christmas Eve, we enjoy our pieroggie feast!

Gingerbread White House

Once again, 3NE entered the National Institutes of Health Gingerbread House Contest. With no skills, plans to try to use fondant for the first time ever, and an ambitious plan, our house came out pretty fabulous. And since this is my blog, I am going to take credit for about 75% of this personal masterpiece. Between patient care, we made our White House in the nursing conference room. The walls are all homemade gingerbread, the windows are caramelized sugar, and the roof has been covered in fondant. (which I really need to read up on how to use. It did not like me!) You can't see it in these pictures, but there are Christmas lights inside making the windows light up. We were immensely proud of our house and declared it the winner, until we saw our neighbors. Wow, we need to professional bakers to become nurses on our unit.
And since my husband didn't see me for about 4 days while I made this house, I am retiring...

Tree Day!

We ventured out to Pine Valley Farms for our tree this year. This is positively the best place around to get your tree. Good prices and so many great selections! My 3 year old niece, Bailey, taught me this face.. I was trying to get Jesse to stop checking his fantasy chat board.
Jesse found the perfect tree. It is by far the best we have picked so far!

Silly Jesse returned the cart before taking the tree to the car 1/4 mi away! But he thinks he is strong..
Yeah! We are collecting more ornaments as we keep traveling and our tree looks more decorated. Yes, we still have a ways to go.
The theme for our tree is bears!!
(Jesse loves Bears)
