First Thanksgiving Feast

Tragedy struck about 2 weeks ago when I learned that I was scheduled to work till 7:30pm on Thanksgiving. After a few tears, and some sharp words to my boss, I realized that this would be the first Thanksgiving without my Family. Then, Jesse invited a few ESL students to celebrate Thanksgiving with us. Great! Until I realized that would mean I would actually have to plan, coordinate, and cook my first huge feast! After a few google searches and many calls in to my mom, here was my menu:
Turkey
Costco 99 cents/Lb! Brined with a mix from World market and seasoned with Bourbon and spices. The Wyzgas' cook their birds in a paper bag for extra moist meat

Stuffing
This stuffing lived up to its name. I substituted the white bread with sweet rolls. http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Awesome-Sausage-Apple-and-Cranberry-Stuffing/Detail.aspx

Green Beans

French cut from Costco. I realized about an hour ago that I completely forgot about these and they are laying in my veggie drawer, untouched.

Sweet Potato Crunch

Mashed Potatoes
Dori Castro's recipe in the Church Cookbook

Pumpkin Pie
Costco. I was going to attempt this Delicious looking recipe,

but I made scones for breakfast instead. They were the best I have ever tasted!

Very Berry Pie A la mode
From Butler's Orchard
Chardonnay & Sparkling Cider
Everything(besides the green beans) was perfectly timed and dinner was ready to serve at 5:15, 15 min before my dinner time of 5:30. But still we had no guests. At 6, the turkey was getting cold and it was just us to eat all the food! So then we made some calls and Mike and Shannon promised to help us eat all the food at 6:30. 6:30 hit and our first two guests arrived, followed by our next two guests who had been lost for about an hour. Once Mike and Shannon arrived we had a full table. Good times followed...

Jesse's Soup he made for the fam for lunch
