Every year for Christmas I am tempted to think hmm... what else do I NEED? Sure, I can think up a whole list of things I want, but after traveling to Mexico and India I could not hide in America anymore. I now know there are so many people who really do NEED some things for Christmas- just to stay alive. After some prayer, Jesse and I decided to only ask for presents for others. Using World Vision's Gift Catalog, we made up a Christmas list including:A share of a pig
Malaria immunizations for one family
Warm coats
Food for African children
I'll admit it- I was hesitant. I really wanted a digital camera for Christmas and a few 20 other things I had on a list ready in October. So I threw away my list not knowing God provides even for my little wants. Not 1 week later, a check came in the mail closing out an account my Dad had for me that he forgot to close when I married. Just enough money was there to get a great digital camera! So... in the mail is my new Cannon Powershot A710 IS!!! Images from my new camera to follow in future blogs...
That's such an awesome idea to make up a list of Christmas presents for others who actually need things! I can't really think of any things I need and my wants list isn't much either. Thanks for your example in caring for others! God will bless you both for making that decision. I'm excited to see pictures soon :)
