My hubby loves celebrating birthday week! He does extra chores, makes sure I have fun events planned like hiking (which I think he secretly dislikes, but comes just because I enjoy it so much!), and stocks the freezer with plenty of Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream. This year during birthday week we discovered a local brew pub in Frederick called Barley and Hops. My favorite ended up being the guest ale on tap: Table for Two- Belgian Style Table Ale made with Honey.
The big event was a wine tour planned and chauffeured by the Jesse!
We added three new vineyards to our list of visited Virginian wineries: Doukenie, Sunset Hills, and Willowcroft.
At our favorite winery of the day, Willowcroft, we broke out the cheese and snacks for a picnic. The tour ended with a stop at the Leesburg Costco for some discounted vino!
Thanks goes out to the Wyzgas and Simpsons for making special birthday dinners for me! (Some of my favorite foods that were served: Moby Dicks kubideh, orzzo, Brusters ice cream, and dirt cake!!)
