Summarizing Thoughts

We have been home for a month now and are slipping back into the patterns of our old life.  The normalacy is hypnotic.  It teases us into believing that the past year was only a dream and our life abroad an elaborate fantasy.  So we look back at all our pictures and remember "the good times" as we will refer to them from now on.

Best Food: Rose - Normandy, France  

Jesse - Tuscany, Italy (Cheese and Salami)


Worst Food: England

Wine to die for: Tuscany, Italy

Wine to drive for: Sainsbury. 3 Australian Reds for $15

Tastiest Beer: Bavaria, Germany (served in 1 liter steins)

Most scenic: Bertchesgarten, German Alps

Suckiest Beer: Northern, Germany (only served in half pints)

Best Accommodation: Normandy, France Manor B&B 

Worst Accommodation: Birmingham, England (is dried blood in your bathtub normal for a 3 star in England?)

Friendliest People - Rose: Paris, France (SHOCKER)  Jesse: Bavaria, Germany

Unfriendliest People: Spain (ALL of them)

Place you might die if you visit: Omonia District, Athens Greece

Most Romantic: Santorini, Greece

Worst Drivers: Toss up between Rome, Italy and Crete, Greece

Nicest Subway System: Athens, Greece

Dirtiest Subway System: Paris, France 

Best Christmas Market: Koln, Germany

Airport you want to be stranded in: Heathrow Terminal 5 (Honorable mention for the Sausage and Egg sandwich in Terminal 3)

Airport most likely to catch an communicable disease: Fiumicino, Rome Italy

Place we would want to live: Bavaria, Germany (Beer, brats and Christmas, how can you not want to live there?)
