One of our favourite destinations on our itinerary was Hitler's famed Eagles Nest in Berchtesgaden. Sadly, reports of avalanches and snow cancelled our tour, but we decided to visit the area anyway.
We splurged and took a cable car up to the German Alps.
We were stunned by the views.
On the way up, Jesse was excited to catch a glimpse of the Eagle's Nest,
At the top of the lift, we hiked in our sneakers through the snow out to this overlook. The Germans are not so strict about handrails, and Jesse is convinced that he almot died as he skidded through the snowed in path that dropped off into the valley.
At this overlook, our first snow of the year began to fall.
Jesse and I enjoyed our last taste of fresh German Weissbier before we left for Prague.
